First Rivendell 2 debian/ubuntu packages were released last week to be tested.

Update : Rivendell 2.1.0 has been released yesterday, packages have been updated.

These new releases (2.0.2-2 and 2.1.0-1) provide several improvements in packaging :

Changes

Test the package

For the moment, beta packages are available for : Debian stable, testing, unstable and Ubuntu lucid, natty, for both i386 and amd64.

Packages can be downloaded on http://download.tryphon.eu/rivendell/. For example for your Ubuntu Natty i386 :

wget —base=http://download.tryphon.eu/rivendell/natty/ \
librivendell_2.1.0-1_i386.deb \
rivendell_2.1.0-1_i386.deb \
rivendell-server_2.1.0-1_i386.deb

Other prerequisites and instructions are the same as Rivendell 2.0.2-1 packages.

MPEG Support

The MPEG support (mp3 import, export …) are now optional. You have to install the required libraries if needed :

apt-get install libmp3lame0 libtwolame0 libmad0

Debian users will need to add the Debian Multimedia repository in their sources. For example, for Debian squeeze :

deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org squeeze main non-free
