First Rivendell 2 debian/ubuntu packages were released last week to be tested.
Update : Rivendell 2.1.0 has been released yesterday, packages have been updated.
These new releases (
2.1.0-1) provide several improvements in packaging :
- Packages remove their configuration, users and directories when purged. Database and
/var/sndare always kept intact.
- MPEG support is fixed. See the related instructions below.
- A new command-line tool
rivendell-daemonsis now provided to stop Rivendell daemons.
- Packages are available for Ubuntu lucid.
Test the package
For the moment, beta packages are available for : Debian stable, testing, unstable and Ubuntu lucid, natty, for both i386 and amd64.
Packages can be downloaded on http://download.tryphon.eu/rivendell/. For example for your Ubuntu Natty i386 :
wget —base=http://download.tryphon.eu/rivendell/natty/ \
Other prerequisites and instructions are the same as Rivendell 2.0.2-1 packages.
The MPEG support (mp3 import, export …) are now optional. You have to install the required libraries if needed :
apt-get install libmp3lame0 libtwolame0 libmad0
Debian users will need to add the Debian Multimedia repository in their sources. For example, for Debian squeeze :
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org squeeze main non-free
